TRAVEL BODRUM
The
native city of Herodotus is approximately 9000 years
old. Once called Halicarnassus, Bodrum saw the Romans,
the Byzantines, and at the end of the 13th
century, St John‘s knights who remained in power until
the beginning of the Ottoman period. Built on a
peninsula, Bodrum, with its narrow streets winding down
to the sea, is famous for its castle, its world-renowned
gullets (a type of yacht specific to Bodrum), its
shipyards, and its dazzling white houses and tombs
lining the shores of its two harbors.
